Back in the day, I was a Summer Olympic Dreamer! Watching Nadia, Olga and especially Cathy Rigby perform in gymnastics was awe inspiring. My focus was mainly on Floor Exercise, with the rationale that it was much harder to fall off of the floor than the other apparatus (i.e. balance beam, uneven parallel bars and vault was just scary:) My tumbling practice easily carried over to my Cheerleader career and served me very well there for most of Junior High and High School; so no need to spend my adolescent life at an Olympic Training Camp away from the family - Yay. I was good with being a mediocre tumbling Cheerleader! GREAT FUN WAS HAD BY ALL I ASSURE YOU...
Opening Ceremonies begin tomorrow evening for the Winter Olympics in South Korea, and NOTHING makes me more humble, inspired and proud to be an American than does the Olympics!!!
Cheers to all the Athletes & DREAMERS who have spent countless days/nights over the past YEARS training for their sport, suffering through injuries, rehab and pulling out of the emotional toll it takes on a person's confidence and spirit. You are already BIG WINNERS in my book, so be FEARLESS and CELEBRATE your God given talents doing what you LOVE...we are all pulling for you!
