HDI Expression | Custom Door Warranty
WARRANTY | REMAKE | CARE INSTRUCTIONS
The following standard warranty is provided by HDI’s manufacturing partner, Valley Custom Door. This coverage applies to all door profiles within the Expression collection, as well as all stained finishes.
Please Note: This warranty does not cover painted finishes. All painted finishes are applied in-house by the HDI team and are covered under the HDI separate finish warranty.
PRODUCT WARRANTY:
-
All of our products are guaranteed to be free from defect in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of shipment provided that the products are stored, handled and installed properly.
-
All of our doors and drawer fronts using solid wood panels are designed to allow for expansion and contraction to occur in response to the humidity in the room. This design allows the panel to move without damaging the structural integrity of the product. To be under warranty, anything that is applied to our products after they leave our factory must not restrict the panel from being able to move. For example, decorative moulding, excessive stain, paint, glaze or top coat may all inhibit panel movement if not properly applied.
-
We will not warranty any unfinished product that has been stored unfinished for longer than 2 weeks.
-
We will not warranty any product that has been stored or installed in an area with either high humidity or excessively dry conditions. We strongly recommend that all products be stored in an area where the temperature is consistently 65 - 75 degrees fahrenheit with a relative humidity level of 40%.
-
Mitered style doors are built with a gap tolerance of .010 on the inside corner to allow for expansion and contraction and will not be warranted against joint separation that occurs due to high or low humidity conditions.
-
Warp tolerance on all doors is 1/8” from diagonal corners.
-
All doors ordered at 48”+ in height will NOT be warrantied unless the door is made with a mid rail. All doors ordered at 24”+ in width must have a center stile to be warranted.
-
Size tolerance on all doors, drawer fronts and drawer boxes is +/- 1/32” in width and height.
-
Natural characteristics of the wood species that fail within our specifications are not considered defects.
-
Most wood species will naturally darken overtime due to the natural aging process. This is not considered a defect.
-
Doors constructed with a veneer center panel are not guaranteed to match the solid wood frame in the unfinished or finished state.
-
Our solid wood center panels are created with multiple staves of wood.
FINISHING WARRANTY:
-
Our finished products have a one year limited warranty against peeling, blistering or cracking. Discoloration over time will not be warrantied.
-
Many wood species will naturally darken over time due to the aging process. We recommend sending a sample to match when ordering any all-on’s or replacements to ensure the previous color matches the new product. HDI Cabinetry is not responsible for the mailing charges of the sample. If a sample is not provided for matching, HDI can not guarantee the colors will match.
-
Veneered products will stain darker than solid wood roducts. This color variance is not considered to be defective.
-
Mitered door and drawer front joints with a painted finish may have visible cracks occur in response to high or low humidity present and will not be warrantied.
-
HDF center panels are strongly recommended for use in all doors and 5-piece drawer fronts when a painted finish is used. Painted doors and drawer fronts made with solid wood panels will not be warrantied against cracking.
-
Due to natural wear and tear, painted products may dent and/or chip.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Basic Cleaning for Wood Doors: We recommend the use of a mild general cleaner (Murphy’s Oil Soap, etc.) or a clean cloth with mild soap and water. Water should not be left standing when you are complete.
Basic Cleaning for Laminate Doors: Clean with warm water, a clean rag or microfiber cloth, a soft sponge or soft brush. Use normal domestic cleaners or soaps that have no abrasive ingredients. Then wipe with fresh water, removing all traces of the cleaning agent, to prevent streaks forming. Dry the surface with a clean, absorbent cloth or paper towels.
Spills: Spills should be wiped up immediately using a damp rag. Water should not be left standing when you are complete. For any cabinetry doors near sinks, dishwashers, microwaves, etc., please be cautious of any spills or splashes that may occur from their use and wipe up immediately.
